In the latest Warhammer Online question & answer with WarCry, Justin Webb and Josh Drescher reiterated that RvR will be the secret of Warhammer Online’s success. The developers look back at Dark Age of Camelot and view this as the secret of its success. That is why the developers of Warhammer Online are focusing on this game feature.
What is RvR?
RvR stands for Realm vs. Realm. Realm vs. realm is player versus player combat with persistent consequences. In Warhammer Online, players will join one of two armies: Order or Destruction. The Order Army is comprised of Dwarfs, Empire and High Elves. The Army of Destruction is comprised of Greenskins, Chaos and Dark Elves. Realm vs. Realm allows for players to fight players from the other Armies and conquer territories and enemy cities.
The races of Warhammer Online have historical foes. The dwarfs and the greenskins have been battling for ages. The high elves naturally despise the dark elves. And, Chaos wants to destroy the Empire. However, no matter what race you play, you can travel and fight the other realms.
Another unique feature about Warhammer Online’s RvR system is that PvE (player vs. environment) content is incorporated into the RvR gameplay. Players will be able to complete PvE quests in the same maps as RvR combat.

I was a big World of Warcraft fan but after a while it got old. I think there are alot of people that will switch from World to War just cause they want something new. I think RvR is a great idea for Warhammer but i wish i knew more about how it will work. Anything to set Warhammer appart from or improve the president WoW has set will improve Warhammer’s immage by MMORPG fans.
